We went to the Northern tip of PEI to see birds and stuff. There was one on this lighthouse.
There were also some flying amongst the windmills.
We couldn’t find the walking path, and the center was closed, and it was cold and wet, so we just stood next to some windmill parts and gave up and drove on.
Windmills are big.
This was pretty.
But by the time Kerri was done aartiisteing it was just weird.
This was the very first lighthouse we saw in the Maritimes!

The tide goes out. The colour and texture change completely – not because it actually did, but because Matt came home and criticized Kerri’s artiisteic talents.

The tide comes in with Shepody Mountain in the background. We are telling you that because for some reason Albertans seem to have trouble recognizing pictures of towering mountains.
The tide goes out, and Shepody Mountain reaches a full 3.3% further above sea level.
All of this happens much more slowly in person.
At low tide you can explore much more of the beach than you can at high tide.
We found traces of giant birds.
And smaller wildlife.
There was lots of seaweed. The little bulb things are full of air, so they float upright when the tide comes in. They also pop like bubble wrap when they dry out.
The giant eroded rocks only fall over rarely.
So standing next to them is a really good idea.
The Bay of Fundy has lots of scenic scenicness, so we did a scenic drive with lots of lookouts.
Most of the lookouts looked out over not-so-impressive views.
Like the Interpretive Centre Lookout, which gives you a great view of the interpretive centre.
You would be bored stiff if Kerri’s artisteic talent wasn’t hurting your eyes.
Some of them were really pretty though.
There were also educational signs, so we learned that this is a daisy fleabane, which can grow up to 5 feet tall. There is an old wive’s tale that the dried flowers can be used to get rid of fleas.
There were no educational signs for these orange flowers, so we remained uneducated.
Many of the rocks were pretty colours.

The tides are so dramatic that the boats wind up a long way from the water at low tide.
At the end of the day we found some actual Park’s Canada scenic view chairs. The view was good, but not the most scenic in Canada.
Near the beginning of our drive through New Brunswick Kerri spotted these yellow chairs in a cemetery, and got excited because these chairs are supposed to mark the best views in Canada. So we turned down a random street called duck pond road to investigate.
We later learned that the chairs that are supposed to mark the best views in Canada are red. But the yellow chairs did not disappoint us.
The trees were clinging to the edge of eroding red rocks.
Kerri made Matt sit on a rock for a picture.
Kerri sent Matt way out to the edge of the low tide for scale. Can you find him?
It was many big steps away.
Then he came back and found a very small cave.
The pebbles on the beach were very pretty.
You could probably appreciate them better if Kerri didn’t insist on processing everything until it looks like the remains of an explosion at a paint factory.
Somebody really needs to stop her. But the style seemed to be really popular in New Brunswick. And Kerri has decided to become a popular artiste.
The beach was covered in seaweed.
We found some mud shrimp but something had already eaten them.
