Versailles Palace appears at the end of a walk through a nice tree lined path.

Where children aren’t allowed to walk with their parents?

The palace is elaborately decorated.

With lots of glass chandeliers.

And mirrors that are old so they don’t reflect very well.

And statues of shocked lions.

The furniture in the rooms doesn’t look very comfortable.

Outside there was some modern art which had been vandalized. They responded by covering the grafitti in gold paint, because apparently that’s the only kind of paint they keep at the palace.

We’re not sure if someone vandalized the fountains too, or if they are supposed to be gold.

We went to the French Super Museum of Old Stuff (plundered from places other than France)

Kerri leaned against the top of the tomb of a woman that the Church says was a prostitute, but was actually the wife of Jesus, and thus her followers preserved her body in bloody battles because they foresaw that DNA could one day be used to prove that the prostitute had kids, which somehow is going to bring down the Church…never really did follow that plot.

From the inside of the pyramid you can see the buildings outside, but with more lines in the way.

There is a red string light hanging haphazardly from top of the big pyramid for reasons of art.

It does not look good from anywhere.

They also moderned up the ancient runes in the basement. They got an artist to put in some neon lights, scatter plastic chairs, hang some bedsheets and blow them with fans, and play some…music? It consists of a single chord played on the guitar, then left hanging a precisely awkward amount of time, followed by a very slightly different chord, then after another precisely awkward delay replaying the first one.

Because everything is classier in neon purple.
