The gibbons at the Omaha Zoo were displeased.

Something terrible was happening.

There are things down there!

Weird wet things.

One gibbon went down to check it out.

But he wound up getting checked out instead.

Sniff my butt otters!

The Omaha Zoo had lots of fruitbats.

They were really cute.

Most of them were free-flying in the pavillion.

And in the evening, when it was dinner time, they were very active.

They flew to the fruit to get a bite.

And then they flew off carrying it with them.

It was very cool to stand in the middle of a swarm of bats.

They were mostly very good at avoiding us, but one of them hit Kerri in the head.

The Omaha Zoo has a lot of different lemurs.

They all have weird hands.

And are super cute.

Super duper cute.

The ring-tailed lemurs were inside, so they had to suntan through a skylight tube.

Yurtle the Turtle was at the Omaha Zoo. This is a problem. Yurtle the Turtle from the book seems to in fact be Yurtle the Tortoise, because he lives on land. When you create turtle stacks in the water, the turtles on the bottom need to strain their necks to breathe.
