Fens are wet.
So of course this path was flooded too.
And Kerri was weighed down by a hitchhiker.
And we had to dodge carnivorous plants.
And evil kidnapping plants.
They lure bees inside and then trap them and refuse to release them until they are covered in pollen.
They hang out in gangs.
Big bee-bullying gangs.
We’re sure these plants are evil too.
Although we aren’t sure exactly how.
Oh, and there were even some carnivorous animals too!
The Bruce Trail is almost 900km long, from Tobermory to Niagara.
We hiked maybe a km of it.
And parts of that were flooded.
Making it confusing to follow.
But we figured it out.
Other parts are always wet, so they had bridges.
This part is always rocky.
This flower is pretty.
This is the grotto in Bruce Peninsula National Park.
This is the backside of the grotto. As you can see, it’s more of an arch than a grotto.
The grotto is so popular that Parks Canada has to limit the number of visitors most of the summer.
People like to swim around there, which is not particularly safe.
Wiarton looks a lot different in the summer.
You can see the full memorial, which is apparently for multiple Willies.
Willie’s home had a lot less snow, but he didn’t come out to see us.
We got to see his statue though which with all the sun clearly cast a shadow. But prognostication only takes place in February so we’re safe from winter this time, however it is was still pretty chilly outside.
People kept telling us we won’t like Vancouver because it rains all the time, but it seems to rain all the time in Toronto too, including while we were leaving.
They also told us the mountains are better in BC, so we decided we should see the mountains in Ontario before we leave so we can properly compare. So we drove to the Blue Mountains on the way out. They were hard to see because they were so high up in the clouds.
As we got closer we could see them more clearly. They have 6 whole poles in their chairlift, which goes all the way to the summit.
